Four (but more like 5) shoes every womxn should have for fall.

While I totally hate being cold — and one of the main reasons why I was very eager to move south, I love layers and boots. Today we’re going to cover 4 pairs (5 at time of editing) of great shoes to get you through transitional seasons these will also apply for spring. Yes most are boots, its what I love, ok?

A good lug sole boot - preferably something not black.
These Frye’s were a thrift score of epic proportions. I am pretty sure they were never worn before being donated but they have been in my closet for 2 years. The olive drab/green color goes with nearly anything and the thick, utilitarian sole makes them feel more unisex. I love them with a chunky sweater, jeans and a T-shirt and even a dress. Perfect for anything. I have walked thru ankle deep puddles in them while a bit wet they never got soggy and best part they’re still in great shape.

Classic round toe stacked heel boot

Another secondhand score. While sock boots were a rage last year (and seem to be coming back around again his year) this take is a bit more elevated. Thin supple leather hugs just around the ankles making them great for skinny jeans or even a wide leg crop. The round toe can be dressed up or down and stacked heel for some height. Sleek and chic is the vibe of this shoe. I can see this with a T and moto jacket or flannel. These would also look superb with skinny dress pants and a statement sleeve blouse - think white balloon sleeves - ou wee! While these boots from Isola are sold out, you can find a similar style on Asos.

Mules! The ultimate transition shoe. Hot, but cold? - wear a mule. Incase you haven’t figured that out it’s a clog for me but anything with an open back is perfection for those transitional days. Bonus points for not having to have a perfect pedicure. Even more bonus points for a chunky heel or chic Gucciesque option. Even a jacquard mule would be a great addition for a pop of sass.
A statement boot

Two options here: a classic animal print or something with some spunk.
Let’s talk about the animal print first, as someone who hates most patterns (I only wear stripes with the exception of the floral dress and geometric blouse I own) most of my clothing is rather plain. A fun pair of animal print boots adds some visual interest but can still play wonderfully with a minimal wardrobe.
As for your spunky option go with whatever your heart desires. I got this fun pair from Zara last winter and boy do I love them. Extra shiny cap toe, pearls and thick chunky sole. Again bringing some interest to an outfit. Who doesn’t love a bold shoe?

The Bonus boot:
I went to go pull my suggestions from my closet after writing this and felt it was only right to include these. A sky-high hiking boot. Made popular by LV last year, I thrifted these as well. I love the LV style and shape but I am not in the market to drop that kind of cash. These are pretty decent dupes, minus the monogram. Ultra high heel, thick lug sole, adjustable (which is a plus for my Flintstone foot) and inside zip. They look great with skinny jeans and oversized sweater, also with leggings and a blazer. I don’t wear them nearly as often as I wish, but I love the additional option. The 4.25” heel height isn’t something for daily use for me. Well folx, that rounds out my top picks for transitional shoes, ah-hem I mean boots. Hope you found this fun. Any reason for me to talk about shoes is a good one.
Until next time,
